Muriel A. Howard Honors Program

The Muriel A. Howard Honors Program offers academically challenging opportunities for high-achieving and intellectually committed undergraduate students. Honors students engage in special seminars and receive individual attention from dedicated, highly qualified faculty members. Our student scholars enjoy an exhilarating academic journey of shared intellectual and creative pursuits, scholarship, and service learning, both in and outside of the classroom.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) combines access, academic support, and supplemental financial assistance to make higher education possible for students from historically excluded communities who have the potential to succeed, despite limited preparation and financial resources.

Roar 2 Success

The Roar 2 Success Program offers customized student supports to first- and second-year students. The program focuses on defining your student’s ‘college why’, building professional skills, building awareness of campus/community resources, development of campus pride, and collegiate community.

Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE)

The Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) Program is a comprehensive program designed to help students complete their academic journey to a bachelor’s degree on time. ACE provides a range of financial, academic, and personal support, including intensive academic advisement and career counseling, for incoming students in select majors.

Academic Success

The Academic Commons located in the E.H. Butler Library is a one-stop-shop for student support with tutoring, advisement, research services, and more. These services are free and available to all students.

The Student Accessibility Services (SAS) Office is committed to providing access and support for students with disabilities. In collaboration with the university community, Student Accessibility Services ensures that students with disabilities receive reasonable accommodations and services to participate equally in the academic environment.

Wellness and Mental Health Support

Counseling Center

Our Counseling Center provides free and confidential support and mental health services to all registered Buffalo State students. Services include individual counseling, special focus workshops, urgent care crisis intervention, and community resource referrals.

Milligan's Food Pantry

The Milligan’s Food Pantry provides quality food throughout the year to Buffalo State students facing food insecurity. In addition to fresh food choices and nonperishable items, the pantry also offers laundry detergent, toiletries, and hygiene items.
